STATION NOISE
Large warehouses and distribution centers often include dedicated areas for forklift charging stations, pallet jack maintenance, and equipment repair. These service areas typically contain air compressors, battery ventilation systems, and mechanical tools that generate sound levels between 75–85 dB(A) during daily operations. While these spaces are necessary to keep warehouse equipment running efficiently, they can create noise problems for nearby offices.
In many facilities, the equipment service area is separated from administrative workspaces by a wall and a single door. Unfortunately, standard industrial doors offer very little sound isolation. Mechanical noise easily passes through the door panel and frame gaps, allowing equipment noise to spread into nearby offices where logistics staff manage inventory, shipping schedules, and transportation coordination.
Employees working in these office areas may experience background noise levels reaching 65–70 dB(A) throughout the day.
