Recording Studio Sound Isolation

Recording studios require carefully controlled acoustic environments where musicians and engineers can capture clean, high-quality sound recordings. Instruments such as drum kits, amplified guitars, and vocal performances can generate sound levels between 90–100 dB(A) during recording sessions. Without proper sound isolation, this noise can easily escape into nearby rooms or adjacent studios.

Sound leakage can create serious problems in professional recording facilities. If loud instruments from one studio pass through the walls into another room, they may interfere with simultaneous recording sessions. Even small amounts of sound transmission can introduce unwanted background noise into recordings.

Professional studios must maintain strong acoustic separation between rooms to preserve recording clarity. Standard drywall construction often lacks the mass required to block high sound levels produced by musical instruments and amplifiers.

Installing the MassiCore® Vinyl Acoustic Barrier System inside studio wall assemblies dramatically improves sound isolation performance. This mass loaded vinyl acoustic barrier adds dense mass that prevents airborne sound from transmitting through the structure. By blocking sound waves before they travel into adjacent rooms, vinyl acoustic barriers help maintain clean recording environments.

With properly installed MassiCore® Vinyl Acoustic Barrier Systems, studio sound transmission can often be reduced from 95–100 dB(A) inside the recording room to approximately 55–60 dB(A) in neighboring spaces. This allows musicians to perform at full volume while maintaining professional-grade acoustic isolation.
