Overwiew

Holmes Regional Medical Center operates in a demanding
healthcare environment where effective noise control is
essential to patient well-being, staff performance, and overall
operational efficiency. Continuous activity, equipment
operation, and corridor traffic contributed to elevated noise
levels throughout patient rooms, nursing stations, and
common areas. These acoustic challenges not only affected
patient comfort but also made clear communication among
medical staff more difficult, potentially impacting care quality.

To support a quieter, more healing environment, the medical
center partnered with All Noise Control to install VibraCore®
ANC-4000 acoustic ceiling panels. The goal was to create an
acoustically balanced space that reduces stress, enhances
focus, and promotes a more restful environment for patients
and staff alike.

CHALLENGE

Excessive background noise increased patient stress and
interfered with staff communication. The acoustic solution
needed to deliver high NRC performance, comply with
healthcare safety and fire-rating requirements, and provide
long-term durability in high-use environments. Additionally,
the system needed to integrate seamlessly with existing
ceiling layouts without obstructing lighting, HVAC systems, or
medical operations.

SOLUTION

All Noise Control installed ANC-4000 sound absorbing ceiling
panels in corridors, nurses’ stations, and waiting areas. The
panels featured a rigid fiberglass core engineered for
broadband sound absorption, helping to reduce reverberation
and control speech noise in busy clinical spaces.

Panels were finished with cleanable, acoustically transparent
fabrics suitable for healthcare environments, ensuring both
high-performance sound control and long-term durability. The
Class A fire-rated construction supported code compliance
while contributing to OSHA-aligned noise exposure reduction
goals. Panel placement was carefully engineered to maximize
acoustic effectiveness while maintaining compatibility with
existing ceiling systems and minimizing disruption to patient
care during installation.

RESULTS

  • Lower overall noise levels in patient and staff areas
  • Improved speech clarity for clinical communication
  • Reduced patient stress and enhanced comfort throughout
    the facility
  • Fire-rated, hygienic acoustic ceiling system
  • Long-term healthcare noise control solution designed for
    high-use medical environments
