Overwiew
Meyer Amphitheatre is a multi-use performance venue hosting
live music, public events, and spoken-word performances
throughout the year. While the venue’s open architectural
design and high ceilings enhance visual appeal and audience
capacity, these same elements introduced acoustic challenges
that affected sound clarity and overall listening quality.
To improve sound control without compromising the natural
acoustics required for live performances, Meyer Amphitheatre
partnered with All Noise Control to install VibraCore® ANC-
4000 acoustic ceiling panels, engineered to manage
reverberation while preserving the energy and character of the
space.
CHALLENGE
Excessive echo and uneven sound distribution reduced clarity
for both performers and audiences, particularly during
amplified events and spoken presentations. Hard, reflective
surfaces allowed sound to linger, creating reverberation
buildup that interfered with musical balance and speech
intelligibility. The venue required sound control ceiling panels
with high NRC performance, Class A fire-rated compliance, and
compatibility with exposed ceiling structures commonly found
in performance spaces.
SOLUTION
All Noise Control installed a system of suspended VibraCore®
ANC-4000 acoustic ceiling panels engineered specifically for
performance environments. Panels were custom-sized and
suspended from structural elements using precision mounting
hardware, allowing optimal spacing and coverage based on
reflected ceiling plans.
VibraCore® ANC-4000 system included a high-density rigid
fiberglass core designed for effective broadband sound
absorption, paired with acoustically transparent fabric finishes
that maximize NRC performance while maintaining a clean,
professional appearance. Panel thicknesses were selected to
control mid- and high-frequency reverberation without over-
absorbing sound, ensuring musical balance and natural
resonance were preserved. The direct-mount design allowed
sound energy to be absorbed from multiple angles, increasing
overall effectiveness while maintaining airflow, lighting
performance, and access to overhead systems.
