Overwiew
Jim Pignato Theater serves as a performance venue designed
to host theatrical productions, live music events, and spoken-
word presentations. With elevated ceilings, open seating areas,
and reflective interior finishes, the space provides architectural
presence and audience capacity suited for dynamic
performances. However, these same design elements
contributed to acoustic challenges. Sound reflections from
hard surfaces and open volume resulted in excessive
reverberation, reducing speech clarity and overall sonic
balance during performances.
To enhance acoustic quality without altering the theater’s
architectural integrity, Jim Pignato Theater partnered with All
Noise Control to implement the VibraCore® Acoustic Ceiling
Tile Systems using the series ANC -2010 Acoustic Ceiling Tiles
System. Engineered for superior sound absorption and
seamless ceiling integration.

CHALLENGE
The theater’s high ceiling height and reflective finishes allowed
sound energy to travel and persist throughout the
performance space. Dialogue clarity diminished in certain
seating areas, amplified music lost definition, and
reverberation buildup impacted overall acoustic balance. The
solution required effective ceiling-plane sound absorption
capable of addressing echo without interfering with lighting
systems, ceiling infrastructure, or audience sightlines.
Additionally, the selected system needed to meet fire-safety
compliance standards and maintain the professional
appearance expected in a performance venue.

All Noise Control designed and installed a customized
VibraCore® ANC-2010 Acoustic Ceiling Tiles to address
reverberation within Jim Pignato Theater. Integrated directly
into the existing suspended ceiling grid, the tiles target
reflected sound at the ceiling plane to reduce echo and
improve acoustic clarity. Constructed with a high-density
fiberglass core, the panels deliver dependable sound
absorption performance while maintaining compatibility with
lighting and HVAC systems.
Depending on the selected configuration, the system provides
an NRC rating ranging from 0.70 to 1.00, ensuring effective
reverberation control. The tiles are ASTM E84 Class A fire-rated,
delivering a code-compliant acoustic solution without
structural modification.
