CHALLENGE
GE Aviation’s facilities operate some of the loudest industrial
processes in the world, including:
- Jet engine assembly lines
- High-pressure compressor testing
- Turbine rotor balancing
- High-speed machining
These work zones generate high-frequency and low-
frequency noise, making it difficult for engineers, supervisors,
and quality-control teams to conduct critical tasks such as:
- Real-time process oversight
- Safety compliance documentation
- Flight-readiness inspections
- Engineering coordination
They needed durable, sound-isolated modular offices that
could withstand the harsh environment of engine
manufacturing without interrupting operations.
SOLUTION
All Noise Control developed reinforced acoustic modular office systems engineered specifically for extreme-noise industrial environments. The solution included:
- STC 62 sound-rated wall and ceiling systems
- Heavy-mass composite panels for low-frequency jet engine noise
- Impact-resistant metal surfaces for manufacturing durability
- Thermally stable modules to tolerate high ambient
temperatures - Full visibility windows with laminated acoustic glazing
- Integrated electrical and data feeds for production monitoring
The modular offices were installed near engine test cells while maintaining strict safety and workflow standards.
