Advantech
A popular choice for mezzanine decking is corrugated steel decking topped with Advantech. This high-performance material surpasses plywood and OSB in strength, stiffness, and moisture resistance. Its high density ensures a durable, secure surface that withstands foot traffic and harsh weather conditions better than standard plywood.
This decking method is also one of the most cost-effective options, with materials that are readily available, making it a practical and reliable choice for mezzanine flooring.
ResinDek
Another excellent mezzanine decking option is ResinDek, a high-density composite flooring designed for heavy-duty applications. It is ideal for mezzanines handling pallet jacks, carts, and dollies, offering a load capacity of up to 2,000 lbs when installed over 20-gauge corrugated steel decking.
ResinDek features an Acryseal surface, making it skid-resistant and easy to clean. Available in a Gray Diamond Seal finish, it provides both durability and a polished appearance, making it perfect for interior mezzanines requiring strength and a refined look.

Steel Bar Grating
Another popular mezzanine flooring option is welded steel grating, often chosen for its insurance benefits and suitability for industries like waste management, mining, and food service.
This durable, low-maintenance flooring allows air, light, heat, and fluids to pass through, making it both functional and cost-effective. Its interlocking, perpendicular bar design provides a clean, smooth appearance with excellent lateral support.
Steel grating can also lead to insurance savings, as many policies require sprinkler systems only above the mezzanine, since the open grating allows water to reach lower levels.
Diamond Plate
For maximum durability, a diamond plate floor is an excellent choice. This heavy-duty steel tread plate is typically installed over Advantech, which is mounted on corrugated steel decking. This layered construction enhances strength, point load capacity, and wheel load resistance.
Additionally, placing Advantech beneath the diamond plate helps create a quieter work environment compared to installing the plate directly over steel decking. As a result, this option is considered the second most durable mezzanine flooring solution.

Concrete
The most durable mezzanine flooring option is concrete, making it ideal for high-capacity industrial and military applications where a permanent structure is required. It offers exceptional point load capacity and significantly reduces noise transmission.
Steel decking is used as a base, equipped with pour stops to support concrete floors up to 6 inches thick, ensuring a strong, long-lasting mezzanine solution.
