Overwiew
Crown Holdings operates large-scale canning and beverage
packaging lines with extensive HVAC ductwork, industrial
piping, and fiberglass duct wrap. The facility faced persistent
mechanical noise from fans, chillers, pumps, and piping
systems, which threatened worker comfort, concentration, and
overall operational efficiency. Additionally, thermal losses from
hot and chilled process lines created energy inefficiencies and
increased the risk of condensation, potentially impacting
equipment longevity and product safety.
The company required a comprehensive solution that
combined soundproof duct wrap, acoustic pipe and duct wrap,
and HVAC duct insulation wrap capabilities, capable of
performing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Minimizing disruption during installation and maintaining
consistent thermal and acoustic performance were essential to
avoid production downtime.

CHALLENGE
High-velocity ducts and industrial piping transmitted vibration
and airborne noise throughout the facility. Noise breakout
from HVAC and mechanical systems created acoustic hotspots,
interfering with worker communication and comfort. The
facility needed a durable pipe wrap and air duct wrap solution
that could also provide thermal insulation, condensation
control, and long-term durability.
SOLUTION
Â
All Noise Control installed the ANC-B10LAG Wrap Barrier across
HVAC ducts, mechanical piping, pumps, valves, and duct
transitions. The product’s mass-loaded vinyl layer provides
high-density acoustic control, effectively functioning as
acoustic pipe and duct wrap.
The reinforced aluminum-faced mylar adds chemical,
moisture, and heat resistance, ensuring reliable performance
in challenging industrial conditions. The B10LAG also provides
thermal insulation with reduced heat loss, prevents
condensation, and meets ASTM E84 Class 1 fire safety
standards. Its flexible design allows quick installation over
existing insulation using matching tape, minimizing
production downtime while delivering long-lasting acoustic
and thermal performance.
