Overwiew

The University of Central Florida (UCF) operates large academic
facilities with suspended ceiling grids, elevated ceiling heights,
and hard surface finishes. These architectural conditions
contributed to sound reflection and prolonged reverberation
within instructional spaces. Echo buildup and uneven acoustic
distribution affected overall sound clarity across occupied
areas.
To improve acoustic performance while maintaining
institutional design standards, UCF partnered with All Noise
Control to implement VibraCore® Acoustic Ceiling Tile Systems
featuring the ANC-1010 Acoustical Ceiling Tiles Series,
engineered for dependable general noise control in
commercial and educational environments.

CHALLENGE

High ceilings, open layouts, and reflective materials allowed
sound energy to linger and overlap throughout multiple
university spaces. The resulting reverberation reduced acoustic
balance and created inconsistent sound distribution. The
solution required effective ceiling-plane absorption, seamless
integration within existing suspended grid systems,
compliance with fire-safety regulations, and preservation of the
building’s architectural consistency.

SOLUTION

All Noise Control installed VibraCore® Acoustic Ceiling Tile
Systems utilizing the ANC-1010 Acoustical Ceiling Tiles Series —
standard panels designed for general noise control
applications. Integrated directly into the existing ceiling grid,
the system targets reflected sound at the ceiling plane to
reduce echo and improve overall acoustic balance. The panels
provide reliable sound absorption performance while
maintaining a clean, professional finish consistent with
institutional facility standards.

The ANC-1010 panels feature a high-density fiberglass core
engineered for optimal sound absorption and are available in
standard 2’x2’ and 2’x4’ dimensions to fit common drop ceiling
systems. Delivering an NRC rating ranging from 0.70 to 1.00,
depending on the selected panel configuration, the system
provides dependable general noise control. The tiles are ASTM
E84 Class A fire-rated, ensuring commercial compliance while
maintaining ceiling height, lighting integration, and HVAC
functionality—resulting in a durable, code-compliant acoustic
ceiling solution for large institutional environments.

RESULTS

  • Noticeable reduction in reverberation and echo across
    treated spaces
  • Improved overall acoustic balance and sound distribution
  • Seamless integration within existing suspended ceiling
    systems
  • Fire-rated, code-compliant ceiling solution meeting
    institutional standards
  • Durable acoustic upgrade supporting long-term facility
    performance
