Overwiew
Oregon Steel Mills operates heavy industrial facilities where
furnaces, large ventilation systems, and extensive process
piping operate at high capacity. These systems generate
intense noise, vibration, and heat, which can travel through
ducting and piping infrastructure and affect surrounding work
areas. As operational demands increased, controlling sound
transmission and improving insulation performance became
critical for safety and efficiency. Oregon Steel Mills selected All
Noise Control to deliver a rugged, industrial-grade acoustical
solution.
CHALLENGE
High-output equipment produced significant mechanical
noise that migrated through existing duct wrap and pipe wrap
systems. Vibrations amplified noise transmission across large
facility areas, while thermal inefficiencies contributed to heat
loss and inconsistent system performance. Oregon Steel Mills
required a robust pipe soundproofing wrap capable of
delivering strong HVAC noise blocking in extreme industrial
conditions.
SOLUTION
All Noise Control implemented the ANC-B10LAG1 acoustic pipe
and duct wrap, engineered with heavy-duty fiberglass duct
wrap and an integrated acoustical barrier. The B 10 LAG system
functions as a reliable soundproof pipe and duct wrap,
providing both effective noise control and thermal insulation
for large-scale industrial systems.
Its fiberglass insulation layer absorbed sound and reduced
vibration, while the bonded acoustical barrier blocked noise
from escaping into surrounding work areas. The R-value of 5
improved thermal efficiency and reduced radiant heat
exposure. Installation was completed efficiently using a one-
step application that integrated insulation and noise control.
