Noise Blocking Blanket Solutions

Acoustical blankets, also called acoustic blankets, soundproof blankets, or noise barrier blankets—are a powerful solution for absorbing and blocking noise in industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments. Built with high-density acoustic insulation, they reduce sound transmission, control reverberation, and improve overall sound quality.

At All Noise Control, our heavy-duty, weatherproof, and UV-resistant acoustic blankets are designed for HVAC systems, compressors, machine enclosures, construction sites, and areas exposed to outside or street noise. These durable, reusable sound blankets can also be used as noise-blocking dividers, making them ideal for temporary or permanent noise separation in job sites, studios, and facilities.

AB110-EXTR2 – Designed with increased mass and thickness, this model delivers advanced acoustical performance, offering exceptional sound absorption, sound blocking, and acoustic insulation. Perfect for commercial soundproofing projects, large venues, event spaces, and acoustic wall systems, it also performs well as a high-performance acoustic door blanket for reducing airborne noise.

AB12 – A lightweight, portable acoustical blanket ideal for flexible sound control in offices, podcast rooms, studios, and mobile setups. As an affordable alternative in acoustic foam vs. blanket comparisons, it offers versatile coverage for pipes, ductwork, and small equipment and supports temporary soundproofing needs without sacrificing acoustic efficiency.

AB220 – A heavy-duty acoustic barrier blanket built to isolate high-intensity industrial noise in construction sites, machine enclosures, factories, and manufacturing facilities. This outdoor-rated acoustic engine blanket is designed to withstand demanding environments while meeting strict acoustic insulation and noise-mitigation requirements.

AB13 – A midweight, flexible acoustic blanket engineered for residential soundproofing and temporary commercial noise control. Whether used as a door sound blanket, wall barrier, or an alternative to acoustic panels, it provides a reliable balance of portability, durability, and effective noise reduction.

AB22 – A cost-efficient acoustical blanket designed for moderate noise reduction in classrooms, shared workspaces, event halls, and multipurpose environments. This sound absorption blanket supports acoustic ceiling applications and offers dependable coverage for pipes, ductwork, and equipment—making it one of the most versatile acoustic blankets for general soundproofing.

Industrial and Manufacturing Facilities – Acoustic blankets can be installed on pipes, ductwork, generators, compressors, pumps

Applications of Acoustical Blankets

Industrial and Manufacturing Facilities – Acoustic blankets can be installed on pipes, ductwork, generators, compressors, pumps, and other industrial equipment to reduce machinery noise and improve on-site safety. These industrial-grade sound blankets help facilities meet OSHA noise compliance, minimize vibration, and enhance worker comfort in high-noise environments.

Construction Sites and Infrastructure ProjectsTemporary acoustic blankets and construction sound barriers help control noise from heavy equipment, drills, jackhammers, and demolition activities. They reduce environmental noise pollution, protect nearby communities, and support compliance with local noise ordinances during ongoing construction.

Power Plants and Energy Facilities – Use high-performance acoustic barrier blankets to contain noise from turbines, generators, boilers, exhaust systems, and mechanical operations. These blankets improve noise mitigation, support regulatory compliance, and enhance worksite safety in high-output environments.

FAQ

What are acoustic blankets, and how do they work?

Acoustic blankets are multi-layer sound-absorbing and sound-blocking covers designed to wrap, hang, or enclose noisy equipment. They combine dense barrier materials (e.g. mass-loaded vinyl or sound-rated composite cores) with absorptive layers (fiberglass or acoustic insulation) to reduce sound transmission, dampen vibration, and absorb airborne noise. When installed properly — close to the noise source and covering or enclosing it — they can significantly lower decibel output and reduce echo and reverberation.

Can acoustic blankets completely “soundproof” a machine or area?

Acoustic blanket can totally eliminate all sound — especially low-frequency or very high-power noise — because some sound energy always transmits through or around barriers. However, a high-quality, industrial-grade acoustical blanket can deliver substantial noise reduction (commonly 8–18 dB, depending on the application, frequency, and installation configuration). This reduction often results in noticeably quieter environments and safer noise levels.

What types of acoustic blankets do you offer? What’s the difference?

At All Noise Control, we provide a variety of blankets to match different noise-control needs and environments:

  • Interior-rated blankets (e.g. AB110 series, AB12, AB220) — for indoor equipment, machinery, manufacturing lines, and mechanical rooms.
  • Outdoor- or exterior-rated blankets (e.g. EXTR & EXTR-2) — designed for outdoor use: weather-resistant, UV-resistant, and rugged enough for exposed HVAC units, chillers, generators, pumps, or construction equipment.
  • Portable / modular blankets — for equipment or setups that require frequent access or relocation.
  • Custom-fit blankets — tailored to unusual machine shapes, enclosures, or site-specific noise sources.

What kinds of equipment or applications are suitable for acoustic blankets?

Acoustic blankets are highly versatile. Common applications include: compressors, chillers, pumps, HVAC units, fans, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; industrial machines (CNC, stamping, cutting tools); manufacturing lines; mechanical rooms; and even outdoor equipment like generators, rooftop units, and construction-site devices. They can also be used as modular sound-barrier walls or temporary barriers for renovation sites, factories, or noisy work areas.

Are acoustic blankets fire-rated or safe for industrial use?

Yes. Our blankets are built with fire-resistant and industrial-grade materials. Many of the comparable products in the industry are rated to meet safety standards (for example, Class A or Class I fire rating) and use durable, chemical-resistant facings to ensure long-term performance even under heavy use or in harsh environments.

How easy is installation? Do I need special tools or outside contractors?

One of the main advantages of acoustic blankets is ease of installation. They are typically removable, reusable, and can be installed by your own facility personnel — no special tools or structural changes required. Blankets may be secured with Velcro, grommets, wires, zip-ties, or hangers depending on the setup, and they can be removed quickly for maintenance or repositioning.

Can acoustic blankets be reused, repositioned, or adapted later?

Yes — most of our acoustic blankets are designed to be modular, removable, and reusable, which makes them ideal for changing production layouts, maintenance access, or relocating equipment. This flexibility also makes them more cost-effective than permanent sound enclosures.
