Overwiew

Tampa General Hospital, a leading medical facility in Florida,
manages high-traffic patient care areas, offices, and
mechanical rooms where noise from HVAC systems, medical
equipment, and foot traffic can easily travel through doors and
corridors. These sound intrusions disrupted patient rest, staff
concentration, and administrative operations.

To address this challenge, All Noise Control installed
ImpactaCore® ANC-AB2DC Acoustic Door Blankets, providing
a high-performance, removable, and flexible door acoustic
solution that reduced noise transfer without permanent
construction. The installation transformed entryways into
sound-blocking door blankets and portable soundproof door
covers, improving patient comfort and staff productivity while
maintaining hospital workflow.

CHALLENGE

Noise from medical equipment, HVAC systems, and adjacent
operational areas frequently traveled through doors, hallways,
and shared spaces, creating distractions and reducing patient
comfort and staff focus. Tampa General Hospital needed a
solution that could effectively block both airborne and
reflective noise, withstand daily wear in a busy healthcare
environment, and be easily installed, removed, or repositioned
as room layouts and workflows changed.

SOLUTION

All Noise Control installed ImpactaCore® ANC-AB2DC Acoustic
Door Blankets, designed for high-performance noise reduction
in healthcare and commercial settings. The barrier septum
design combines a 1-lb per sf sound barrier with 2” fiberglass
absorbers for both sound blocking and absorption. These
blankets feature grommets and hook-and-loop fasteners for
modular, flexible installation, with standard rolls 48” x 25’
,
available in gray, white, black, or tan. Fire-rated (Class A),
moisture- and impact-resistant, and with an NRC of 0.85 and
STC of 29, these heavy-duty acoustic door blankets deliver
long-lasting, hospital-grade performance.

Their modular, removable design enabled quick set-up over
entryways, creating sound blocking door blankets that
reduced noise from mechanical rooms, equipment areas, and
busy corridors. This flexibility allowed Tampa General Hospital
to adapt layouts without downtime, improving patient comfort
and staff focus.

RESULTS

  • Significant reduction of equipment and corridor noise at
    doorways
  • Enhanced patient comfort and improved staff focus in
    clinical and administrative areas
  • Modular door acoustic blankets allowed flexible
    repositioning and installation
  • Fire-rated, durable, and long-lasting construction ensured
reliable performance in a high-traffic hospital environment
