Overwiew
Honeywell International operates multiple facilities across
Florida, including research labs, manufacturing spaces, and
mechanical rooms equipped with extensive HVAC systems.
Continuous operation of air handlers, ventilation ducts, testing
equipment, and other industrial machinery created persistent
airborne noise that affected adjacent office spaces, lab
environments, and sensitive work areas. This noise posed
distractions to employees, compromised focus in research
areas, and raised potential compliance concerns with internal
acoustic standards.
They required a reliable, high-performance acoustic solution
that could be integrated into existing walls without major
construction, downtime, or interference with operations. The
solution needed to provide industrial soundproofing, reduce
both airborne and structure-borne noise, and offer long-term
performance in demanding mechanical environments.

CHALLENGE
Honeywell faced persistent noise issues caused by HVAC
systems, ventilation ducts, and mechanical equipment, which
transferred into office and lab spaces, creating acoustic
distractions and potential workflow disruptions. Existing facility
layouts required a soundproofing barrier that could fit into
tight spaces without reducing usable floor area or obstructing
airflow. Traditional rigid panels or enclosures were heavy,
cumbersome, and difficult to integrate with complex
mechanical systems, while providing limited noise reduction
and sound transmission loss.
SOLUTION
Â
All Noise Control installed MassiCore® ANC-VB60 Mass Loaded
Vinyl (MLV), a high-density, flexible, limp mass barrier for
professional industrial soundproofing and acoustic noise
control. Made from non-toxic, lead-free vinyl, weighing 1 lb/sq ft
and 1/8′′ thick, MassiCore® ANC-VB60 is ideal for tight spaces
and retrofit applications. Its thin, flexible design allowed
installation behind drywall and around ducts, pipes, and
equipment without affecting airflow or operations.
The high-density vinyl acts as a limp mass barrier, reducing
airborne noise and dampening vibration from HVAC systems,
generators, and machinery. Installed on walls, ceilings,
ductwork, and equipment enclosures, it served as both a noise
blocking material and a vibration-dampening barrier. Fire-
rated and compliant with UL 94 HF-1, MVSS 302, and MIL-STD
6411, MassiCore® ANC-VB60 provided long-lasting, safe
performance. Applied across mechanical systems, it created a
network of MLV sound barriers and equipment soundproofing
barriers, significantly reducing industrial and mechanical noise
transfer while integrating seamlessly with existing structures.
