Overwiew
Florida Power & Light operates high-output power generation
facilities in Florida where turbines, generators, compressors,
and industrial HVAC systems produce continuous high-decibel
noise. This environment affected communication, employee
comfort, and overall operational efficiency across plant floors,
control rooms, and administrative areas.
To address the challenge, All Noise Control provided industrial
soundproof walls using ANC-AB110EXT-R2, a composite
outdoor-rated noise control wall system. Panels were installed
as modular curtain panels and around noisy equipment to
create sound blocking walls, noise isolation systems, and high-
performance noise barriers without requiring permanent
construction.
CHALLENGE
Continuous high-decibel noise from turbines, generators, and
mechanical systems spread across operational zones and
control areas, making communication difficult and increasing
employee exposure to hazardous sound levels. Florida Power &
Light needed a durable, fire-rated, and UV-resistant solution
that could withstand harsh outdoor and industrial conditions
while offering flexibility for changing operational layouts.
Ensuring compliance with OSHA and local noise regulations
was essential.
SOLUTION
All Noise Control installed ANC-AB110EXT-R2 soundproof wall
panels to provide Florida Power & Light with a comprehensive
industrial noise control solution. Combining a 1-lb reinforced
mass loaded vinyl barrier with a 2” quilted fiberglass absorber
featuring a vinyl-coated polyester facing, these panels
delivered both sound absorption and high-performance noise
blocking in a single system.
The modular curtain panels, equipped with grommets,
exterior-grade Velcro seals, and Gore Tenara stitching, offered
easy installation, long-term durability, and flexibility to adapt to
changing operational layouts. Available in multiple colors for
both the quilted facing and vinyl barrier, the system achieved
an STC rating of 33 and NRC 0.85, effectively reducing airborne
noise, reverberation, and mechanical vibrations. ANC-
AB110EXT-R2 provided Florida Power & Light with reliable,
long-lasting soundproof walls and acoustic wall panels tailored
for demanding outdoor and industrial environments.
