Overwiew
Bay Eight Recording Studios operates a professional recording
facility in Florida where vocal booths, control rooms, and live
recording spaces must remain acoustically isolated. However,
sound from hallways, adjacent rooms, HVAC systems, and
doorways was leaking into recording spaces, affecting audio
clarity, privacy, and overall production quality.
The studio required a high-performance acoustic door blanket
solution that could block sound through door openings,
improve sound isolation, and maintain a clean, professional
studio environment—without permanent construction or
downtime.
CHALLENGE
Standard studio doors allowed noise to pass between rooms,
creating unwanted background sound, echo, and reduced
isolation during recording sessions, where even small gaps
around doors compromised recording quality and client
satisfaction. Bay Eight also needed a solution that was easy to
install and remove, fire-rated and durable, flexible enough to
support changing room layouts, and capable of delivering true
studio-grade soundproofing.
SOLUTION
All Noise Control installed ImpactaCore® ANC-AB2DC acoustic
door blankets, turning each studio doorway into a high-
performance soundproof barrier. These portable soundproof
door covers combine sound absorption panels and sound
blocking walls, effectively controlling noise where leakage is
most common.
The ImpactaCore® ANC-AB2DC consists of a 1-lb per sf sound
barrier paired with 2” fiberglass sound absorbers. This
construction delivers effective control of airborne noise at door
openings—where sound leakage most commonly occurs—
making it a reliable solution for professional recording and
sound-sensitive environments.
Available in 54” wide rolls with custom heights up to 20 feet,
the blankets are lightweight, fire-rated (Class A per ASTM E84),
and durable. Grommets along the top and hook-and-loop
fasteners along the vertical edges make installation quick and
flexible, allowing the studio to reposition the removable door
soundproofing blankets as layouts change—providing a
versatile solution for door acoustic solutions.
