Civic
Center
Overwiew
Kissimmee Civic Center is a versatile community venue
hosting public meetings, live performances, sporting events,
exhibitions, and large gatherings. The facility features high
ceilings, expansive open spaces, and reflective surfaces that,
while architecturally impressive, created acoustic challenges
such as excessive reverberation and echo, which impacted
speech intelligibility and overall sound quality during events.
To improve audience listening, reduce echo, and enhance the
acoustic experience without altering the center’s open design,
Kissimmee Civic Center partnered with All Noise Control to
install VibraCore® ANC-700 acoustic banners, a high-
performance solution engineered for large-scale reverberation
control in multipurpose public venues.
CHALLENGE
The civic center’s multi-purpose design created significant
acoustic challenges. Loud crowd noise, amplified
announcements, and overlapping conversations were
magnified by the open ceiling structure, making it difficult for
attendees to clearly hear speakers and performers. The
solution needed to reduce echo and ambient noise while
maintaining visual openness, meeting fire safety requirements,
and accommodating frequent event setup changes.
SOLUTION
All Noise Control installed VibraCore® ANC-700 suspended
acoustic banners throughout the Kissimmee Civic Center.
These rectangular, 2” thick banners (4’ x 2’) feature 3/4#
fiberglass cores with perforated PVC or nylon sailcloth surfaces,
delivering maximum sound absorption with an NRC of 1.0.
The hanging acoustic banners were suspended from existing
structures using cables, beam clamps, and grommeted
suspension hardware, allowing precise placement as detailed
in reflected ceiling plans. In areas with high ceilings or complex
architectural features, catenary banners and draped acoustic
banners were used to follow ceiling contours and maximize
coverage. Heat-sealed edges ensured durability, while
architect-selected colors allowed the banners to blend
seamlessly with the center’s interior design.
RESULTS
