These 12″x12″ square polyurethane foam panels are ideal for extreme noise sources, low bass noise, impact noise, or for anechoic sound chambers. Available in standard thickness, with custom thicknesses optional. Their extreme thickness forces the noise wave to travel several more times through the material before it can escape. This creates maximum dissipation.
Open cell polyurethane acoustic foam blocks, measuring 12″ x 12″ square with standard widths of 6″ or 8″. Anechoic wedge shape design is ideal for attacking extreme low and high frequency sound. Ideal product for anechoic chamber applications. The ultimate in energy absorption with 100% echo reduction
Installation Instructions: Most customers glue these panels to a wall using silicone based caulk. For portability, you could opt to put them up with velcro strips or double stick tape. Cut the foam from the back side with a carpet cutter or utility knife.
The standard installation consists of adhering the V-Blocks directly to a wall surface with standard silicone adhesive. To maximize the effects of the foam, customers have mounted the Sound Blocks to plywood, and attached the plywood to firring strips linings the chamber walls. This creates a dead air space behind the foam. For treating transmission (keeping outside noise out, and inside noise in) see our Vinyl Sound Barrier material. This could be adhered to the chamber walls prior to installing the foam.
