MOCA Museum in Florida quiets art exhibit

MOCA – the famous Museum of Contemporary Art in Florida had acoustic problems typical in large spaces. Volume & open spaces, with large flat surfaces, are ideal settings for echo, reverberation, and other acoustic problems. Visitors could hear whispers across the room making private conversation difficult. MOCA required an absorption material that was aesthetically pleasing and non-distracting – to essentially stop the sound and allow the art to stand out. They needed to absorb the sound bouncing off the ceiling, floor, and walls that traveled from exhibit to exhibit, while not interfering or distracting from the artwork displayed. Our ANC-3000 Acoustical Wall Panels was an ideal candidate. It can stand up to high traffic areas while not wearing, is Class A fire rated, and available in 48 fabric Guilford colors.
This allows MOCA to choose fabric colors to blend into the walls showcasing the artwork which can be displayed on walls or floors. MOCA continues to reorder the panels, which are installed fresh and unique to each new exhibit and efficiently absorb the sound from foot traffic, voices, and other sources bouncing off the walls, floors, and ceilings.
