Barvista is a construction provider of single & multi-family homes and commercial buildings in the Colorado area. Barvista was embarking on a new development of condominiums in the heard of rocky mountains and needed to address one of the most common noise control issues found within multi-family & condominium spaces: shared walls.

The University of Appalachia / Pharmacy School had typical needs like other institutions… budget concerns and to make the most of existing space. The challenge of turning a noisy gym into a sound lecture hall for a true
multi-purpose space.

Sound is propagated in air, much like blowing up a large balloon, which expands equally in all directions.
For sound to be generated and heard it must have a source, a medium through which to pass and a receiver.

The loudest sound in recorded history occurred on August 27, 1883, just off the coast of Jakarta, Indonesia.
A volcano on the small island of Krakatoa was undergoing the cataclysmic stage of its months-long eruption. At 10:20 AM the volcano exploded with a sound heard, literally, around the world.
